A Little Night Magic at the Palace!

The Texas Magic Center, a 501c3 Public Charity based in Georgetown, promotes the
performing arts by creating and promoting public exhibits and events exploring the fascination
and fun, as well as the historical significance, of the art of magic. The relatively-new
organization (the web site is just now being developed) has become the Foundation for the
Texas Association of Magicians, and is providing scholarships for youth to participate in their
annual convention.

In collaboration with the Palace Theater, the Fantastic Magic Center, the Brass Peacock, and the
Texas Association of Magicians, the Texas Magic Center is presenting “A Little Night Magic at
the Palace!” on Tuesday evening, October 27, 2026.

This year is the 100 th anniversary of the untimely death of Harry Houdini, who died on October
31 (Halloween) in 1926 at the age of 52. (Yes, 52 is also the number of cards in a deck of playing
cards, ironic since Houdini once billed himself as “The King of Cards.”)

This spectacular event will feature displays of historical magic memorabilia as well as
performances by award-winning magicians with international reputations. It will be promoted
internationally through magicians’ publications, podcasts, newsletters, and social media, as well
as in Central Texas through local organizations involved in history and the performing arts.

A smaller event, put on February 17 and limited to just 52 tickets at $52 each, quickly sold out
and attracted people from Austin, Dallas, Fort Worth, Burnet, San Antonio, Lake Charles
Louisiana, and Portland Oregan.

A “Houdini Happy Hour” limited to 75 VIP ticket holders, will be held at the Brass Peacock
Speakeasy before the October event. An “Even More Magic” after party will be held at the
Palace. Additional methods of local collaboration will be offered to the Georgetown Art Center,
the Georgetown Public Library, and the Sheraton Hotel and Conference Center.

The show, although targeted especially for adults, will be appropriate for families. Blocks of
low-price tickets will be made available through sponsorship to underserved populations
including military veterans and their families, in cooperation with Heroes Night Out. BIG will be
invited to provide low-cost tickets for underserved adults, and Casa for underserved youth.

The Texas Magic Center will also provide children’s activities and performances without cost for
the Palace Theater during a magical event in the Spring of 2027.

October is National Magic Month, and we will be providing magical events and activities all
over Georgetown in preparation for “A Little Night Magic at the Palace!”
